On 14th December 2021, His Excellency, the Ambassador of Royal Bhutanese Embassy, Dhaka, Mr. Rinchen Kuentsyl gave a courtesy visit to Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited (BSCL). Here he met the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BSCL, Dr. Shahjahan Mahmood. Mr. Md. Shafiqul Islam, Managing Director of BSCL, Mr. Shah Ahmedul Kabir, General Manager (Sales & Marketing), BSCL, Mr. Bakhtiar Ahmed, Assistant General Manager (Sales & Marketing) and Ms. Rehenuma Tarannum, Manager (Overseas Sales), BSCL were also present in the meeting. BSCL informed His Excellency about Bangabandhu Satellite -1 (BS-1), BSCL, activities of BSCL & impact of BS-1 for the establishment of “Digital Bangladesh”. The participants also discussed regarding usability of BS-1 & mode of cooperation between the two countries. The Chairman & CEO of BSCL expressed that BSCL is keen to share the experience gained out of launching & operating BS-1 with Bhutan & desires to become a strategic partner of Bhutan for capacity building in satellite arena. His Excellency also expressed that, Bhutan will also explore the possibilities of using BS-1 in Bhutan. He also stated that, Bangladesh and Bhutan has always been a great example of friendship between two neighboring countries and Bhutan is always thankful to Bangladesh for all kind of cooperation.
